In order to bring a multimedia dimension to the “Insider Art” exhibition and to better reflect the range of art forms that is being explored at Avenal State Prison, College of Social Sciences Communications Specialist Lucero Benitez filmed a performance by the Actors’ Gang as well as music performances by five prison bands. The videos, which were shown at the exhibition, are available on this page along with interviews recorded with a selection of incarcerated artists who describe in their own words what involvement in the arts means to them.
