Biosketch
Dr. Omolayo retired from Fresno State in 2018 after 25 years of teaching, scholarship and creative work. His research interests included urban air pollution, flood studies, global climate change and economic impact of nonprofit organizations (published research link).
He earned his doctorate degree in geography [hydrometeorology] in 1989 from The University of New South Wales (Sydney, Australia), and his dissertation was entitled, "Relationships between Point and Area Rainfall for Flood and Drought Assessments," (2 volumes).
He received his master's degree in 1980 in meteorology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.), and specialized in moisture transport, vertically-integrated water vapor fluxes, meteorology, hydrology and evapotranspiration. His thesis was entitled, "Landward Moisture Fluxes for the Northern Hemisphere."
He also received a certificate in Geographic Information System (GIS) from the Environmental Systems and Research Institute (ESRI), in Redlands, California in 1994. Other degrees included a postgraduate diploma in meteorology in 1976 from the University of Ibadan (Ibadan, Nigeria) that included a project in weather forecasting techniques, and a bachelor's degree in physics (honors) in 1974 from the University of Ife (Ile-Ife, Nigeria).
